Re: Soggy March

Monthly total (1st - 16th) now up to 114 mm Len. That is pretty extreme for here and exceptional for March which is normally part of the seasonal 'drying out' time of year. And to make matters worse, it is snowing again! Third day this month with snow falling though this time it is not settling. The...

Soggy March

Well and truly soggy out there. Normally the end of February and early March represent the start of the 'drying out' after the winter but spring seems to have decided to take a break and it just keeps on raining and raining. And no end insight! March 1st - 11th Mean minimum = 1.7°C Mean maximum = 8....

Normality Returns to Devon

The rare novelty of Devonshire snowfall last Thursday quickly wore off and by Saturday it had all but melted. And today is thankfully, back to normality! Sunshine and a few light showers, and more importantly a temperature of around 10°C. Certainly no heatwave but a welcome change from those absurdl...

Re: First significant winter snowfall on Wirral

The first snowfall here since December 2010. Now snowing qute heavily and the maximum temperature today has reached only -2.7°C. Today could end up with the lowest maximum I have ever recorded by quite a margin (2005).

Welcome to the first day of spring!

Re: February Sunshine

Len, 5 hours of sunshine today and coupled with yesterday's unbroken sunshine all day, the total is now up to 122 hours. My February 2008 record of 130 hours could be beaten. A rather chilly one today, a maximum of only 3.6°C making it the coldest day maximum since 3.3°C on the 11th February 2017. I...

Re: Orange Sun

Interesting blip on my barograph chart at about 05.15 BST this morning. Did a front pass? If not, can anyone explain? 16th October 2017 Time hPa 05:20 1011.0 05:25 1010.6 05:30 1010.4 05:35 1009.6 05:40 1010.1 05:45 1010.8 05:50 1010.6 John, was your 'blip' a sudden increase in pressure? If not the...
