Re: Warmest June Day

Today (20th June) was even warmer and was the warmest of any day I have recorded since setting up the weather station in My 2005. 20th June: Minimum = 14.9°C (04:44) Maximum = 31.1°C (14:26) Highest DP = 21.8°C (14:26) This was also the highest DP I have recorded beating the previous high of 21.5°C ...

Warmest June Day

Today I recorded a maximum of 29.9°C making it the warmest June day in my record going back to 2005. The previous warmest June day was 28.8°C on the 26th June 2010. Hot days are rare here as the sea breeze normally comes to the rescue but today was an exception. The heat and humidity rose and peaked...

June 2017 - The 1st 'Rather Average' Half

The first half of this June statistically is rather ordinary but belies the unusually windy and unsettled weather of last week. But 'rather average' weather these days seems to be notable in itself :) 1st - 15th Mean maximum = 19.8°C Mean minimum = 9.6°C Mean = 14.7°C Rain = 32.6 mm Sunshine = 104 h...

Re: No named storm but

Nothing remarkable though it was a tad windy with a maximum gust of 40 mph (high for here in a summer month). There was 15.4 mm of rain on the 5th, it was sunless and a maximum of only 15.2°C made for a rather depressing summer's day. Hopefully summer-proper will arrive soon. Another one like last y...

Re: Dry start to April

10.4 mm here up to the 29th. Forecast says rain for tomorrow but I don't expect a deluge. Last rain of any amount was the 1st with the only other day with any rain being the 4th with 0.6 mm. Things are getting very, very dry here with the sandy soils now just 'dust' even 30 cm down. Grass browning n...

March 2017 - Dull 1st Half

1st Half - a little warmer than normal but dull with average rainfall. That sums up March so far. Sunshine has been struggling in what normally is a rather sunny month here on the south coast of Devon. March 2017 (1st - 17th): Mean minimum = 6.1°C Mean maximum = 12.6°C Mean = 9.4°C Rain = 29.4 mm Su...

Re: February 'Warmth'

Len, warmest February since 2011 here.

February 2017:
Mean Max: 10.7ºC
Mean Min: 4.6ºC
Mean: 7.7ºC
Rainfall = 52.8 mm
Sunshine = 80.6 hours

So warmer and a little drier than normal with spot-on average sunshine. There were 3 light frosts.

February 'Warmth'

This February is turning out to be warmer than the average and since the 13th there has been a notable run of mild 'double-figure' days. A few cold nights thrown in but the strengthening sun is helping the days warm up somewhat. It has also been drier than normal with 9.6 mm falling since the 8th an...

Re: 28th January - A Sunny Month

Well, there have just been 3 sunless days (29th -31st) so the monthly sunshine total for January stands at 103.4 hours. Three consecutively sunless days are rather rare here. I may be wrong as this is a difficult statistic to find in my past records but so far, the last time there were 3 or more con...

28th January - A Sunny Month

Nice to see the monthly sunshine total passing 100 hours today on what was a superb day with a deep blue sky and dazzling, warm sunshine. This Atlantic air is certainly a huge improvement on that nasty, cold air of recent. Saturday 28th January: Minimum = 2.4C Maximum = 11.3C Rain = 10.2 mm Sunshine...
