17th January - Rain in an Anticyclone

My aneroid barometer was telling very big porky pies this afternoon whilst I was watching the rain and drizzle fall.
A mild, damp, murky, misty day with 2.6 mm of rain and an air pressure of 1036 hPa (and currently rising).
With the hills shrouded in mist and light rain, you could be forgiven for thinking we are in a warm sector of a low pressure system with an air pressure of 992 hPa rather than in a strong anticyclone. The lack of wind is the only thing giving it away at the moment.
