Very interesting to see this, especially in the light of media coverage of summer floods over recent years, which has often given the reverse impression. (e.g. in 2007, 2012 and indeed 2019). It will also be interesting to see whether climate change brings about any reversal of this downward trend over the coming years and decades, given that higher temperatures will increase the moisture carrying capacity of the atmosphere.
