1st Half - a little warmer than normal but dull with average rainfall. That sums up March so far.
Sunshine has been struggling in what normally is a rather sunny month here on the south coast of Devon.
March 2017 (1st - 17th):
Mean minimum = 6.1°C
Mean maximum = 12.6°C
Mean = 9.4°C
Rain = 29.4 mm
Sunshine = 40.7 hours.
March total monthly sunshine:
2016 = 164 hours
2015 = 152 hours
2014 = 171 hours
2013 = 94 hours
2012 = 190 hours
2011 = 190 hours
2010 = 156 hours
The average sunshine for March since 2006 is 149 hours.
Still, despite the lack of sunshine things are now very spring-like with the countryside greening up well. The Devon-bank is coming alive and the willows and hawthorns are now in leaf. The fields look lovely with their carpets of daisies, dandelions and celandines.
