This November is continuing as October ended by turning out to be rather a sunny month so far. A big improvement on last year's November which ended up the dullest of any month (49.1 hours) I have recorded since setting up my sunshine recorder in 2006.

The relatively high amount of sunshine this month has meant for slightly warmer than average days but a plethora of starry nights has pulled the mean temperature right down to below normal.

1st - 13th November 2016:
Mean minimum = 3.3°C
Mean maximum = 12.4°C
Mean = 7.9°C
Rainfall = 39.8 mm
Sunshine = 62.2 hours (66% of the total possible).

Richard, hasn't been so sunny recently with the total today (24th) down to 56% of the possible sunshine but that is still above the average.

Despite the cloud and rain, we still managed 18 hours of sunshine for the last 7 days. Monthly total now at 90.3 hours. A few cloudy/milder nights have brought the mean minimum temperature up a little to 4.8°C, still a whole degree below normal.

Looking at the forecast, some good amounts of sunshine to come for the next few days. My sunniest November since 2006 was 108 hours. This month is likely to beat that.
